Trillian seems to be the ultimate solution to have all your IM programs and functions in just one place. However, when integrating Skype with Trillian plugin, some problems arise, like the constant Silent Mode window popping up. This ste by step guide will tell you how to properly integrate and connect Trillian with Skype, import contacts, both for MAC and Windows downloads. Before you do this, remember to always have Skype running before turning on Trillian.
How to Install Trillian and Skype
- Download Trillian (versions for Windows and MAC are available)
- Register in Trillian and go through the first installation steps, until you reach the Configure IM and Web Services
- Scroll down in that same window and click on the Skype check box (and of course all other IM programs you need configured)
- Scroll down in that same window and click on the Skype check box (and of course all other IM programs you need configured), click on the green Next button
- Fill in the appropriate information for your Skype user and click Next to move onto the next account, you can do it later
- If you adding Skype after installing Trillian, go to (in Trillian) Menu >> Trillian >> Manage Connections >> Add a New Connection button screen bottom, enter your Skype info and that is it
Skype Silent Mode Problem with Trillian
- Each time you use Trillian along with Skype, a pop up shows up telling you to confirm to use Skype in silent mode, you can click ok or cancel. This is NOT a bug, and it basically happens because Trillian is not a plugin but a third party app that requests access to Skype in order to get information from the program, there is no solution to the constant silent mode window pop-up

no where do I see a pull down or command to “start skype” like the video says to do.
